Trinars Vs. Traders

We have named the game. At least tentatively. Given the nature of the game, and because good things come in threes, we are calling the game "Trinars Vs. Traders". The name of the military faction is the Trinars - an efficient, ruthless group of military commanders who advance up their ranks thru battles and bribery. The Traders, are a ground of merchants who enjoy a little illegal cargo every so often.

We are excited to have our artist on board. He is busily developing ship designs, as we get ready to do some board game play testing.

Can't wait!

What are you thankful for?

For our users in the United States today is the Thanksgiving holiday. Our Canadian users celebrated this earlier this month. If we think about the U.S. holiday it is positioned as a founding holiday to some degree, it is probably best thought of as a harvest holiday. We feast in a bountiful feast, prepared for friends and family. Many families will have a large roast turkey and various vegetables, along with pies and other deserts.

It is in that spirit that the team at ApApp says thank you to all our users out there. We feel that for now we are going on a pause of refinements of WastedTime and will start focusing a lot more on our game design. Those of you who are near our offices may be interested in upcoming game testing. We will be testing out our game via creation of a board game. We hope this will not only allow us to get feedback on the mechanics, but also allow us to improve the fun factor.

It will also allow us to improve our skills at development for gaming, as this will be our first attempt at making a game.

We are really excited about this, and thankful for our support.

Working on iOS5 Updates

We've decided to do a bit of code clean-up and help improve the experience with Twitter for Wasted Time under iOS.  To that end, we've been completely redoing our Twitter integration.  Gone is the function that tweets for you without letting you make any changes.  We are going to use the new iOS built in Twitter support, which will check for your default twitter account on you iOS device and then present you with a Modal display, prefilled with information on the meeting. You can then either hit Send or Cancel, or even add your own comments.  As soon as Apple relases iOS5 we should have this version of WastedTime available.

In addition to this change we will be removing the Twitter support from people who use older versions of iOS.  Given the number of people tweeting, we are sure this won't be a big problem.  We will also be removing any future cost for this app, and make it ad supported.  Ads will only display on the help screen, as we feel that they should not impact your meetings.  If you want to continue to support us, please support our ad sponsors by clicking thru when you can.
